The full UAE visa photo requirements
| Size | Passport style, 4.3 × 5.5 cm proportions (portrait) |
|---|---|
| Background | Plain white, no shadows or patterns |
| Face | Centred, neutral expression, looking straight at the camera, face covering 70–80% of the frame height |
| Glasses / headwear | No glasses. Headwear only for religious reasons, and it must not obscure the face |
| Quality | Sharp, unedited, no filters, even lighting, taken within the last 6 months |
| Digital file | JPG or PNG, roughly 500 × 650 px or larger in the correct proportions |
A compliant photo eliminates one of the most common visa rejection causes. Once your photo and passport scan are ready, the 30-day tourist visa application takes about five minutes — or check the full document requirements first.
Frequently asked questions
What size photo is required for a UAE visa?
The standard UAE visa photo is passport-style, 4.3 × 5.5 cm, on a plain white background. For online applications you upload a digital image — a sharp, uncropped photo of at least roughly 500 × 650 pixels in the same proportions works.
Can I take my UAE visa photo with a phone?
Yes, if the result follows the rules: plain white background, even lighting with no shadows, face centred and looking straight at the camera, no glasses, no filters, and nothing cropping the head. Have someone else take it — arm-length selfies distort proportions.
Why do UAE visa applications get rejected for photos?
The common photo causes are: glasses or headwear that obscures the face, shadows or coloured backgrounds, heavy filters or editing, low-resolution or stretched images, and photos where the face is too small or cropped. A compliant photo removes one of the most frequent rejection triggers.
Does this checker approve my photo officially?
No. It is a pre-check that catches the obvious technical problems (wrong proportions, low resolution, non-white corners) before you apply. Only UAE immigration authorities accept or reject the actual application.
This tool performs technical pre-checks only (dimensions, resolution, background sampling). It cannot judge facial pose, lighting nuances or headwear rules, and it is not an approval by any authority.
